GDC World · Tools and media

Build it.
Film it.
Ship it.

We build small, practical web apps and run them ourselves on AWS. Four are live today — Cat’s Health, The Recipe Book, the Travel Planner and the Season Planner — all behind a single GDC account.

We film as well as we build

GDC World is a channel as much as a workshop: the English-language podcast Texas Calling and travel films shot mostly in the United States.

The tools

Built, shipped, in daily use

Four products in production. Every one of them was a private problem first, which is why none has a feature nobody uses.

Cat's Health — feeding log

Cat's Health

Live
iPad-first · React + TypeScript · AWS

A household app for tracking several cats’ feeding, weight and vomiting incidents. It runs on an iPad mounted in the kitchen, so logging a meal takes one tap.

  • Feeding log with can scanning
  • Weight history with signed deltas
  • Bilingual DE/EN date and time entry
The Recipe Book — dashboard

The Recipe Book

Live
Web · Weekly meal planning · AWS

Plan a whole week of cooking from your own recipe database. Recipes come in from websites, photos, PDF files and Instagram posts and land searchable, in one place.

  • Import from web, photo, PDF and Instagram
  • Searchable recipe database
  • Week planner across all seven days
Travel Planner — all trips

Travel Planner

Live
Web · Trip planning · AWS

Plan a trip as an ordered list of stops with their nights. Every date, every total and the cost per day follow from that — it replaces the spreadsheet a decade of trips lived in.

  • Dates and costs derived from stops and nights
  • Flights, hotels, cars and events compared side by side
  • Open decisions counted across every trip
Season Planner — the week ahead

Season Planner

Live
Web · NFL and college football · AWS

Follow an American football season from Germany, NFL and college both, a week at a time. Kickoffs are given in Berlin time first, and the games you mark come with a reminder before they start.

  • Kickoffs in Berlin and Eastern time
  • Watchlist with a reminder before kickoff
  • Live score, clock and possession
Access

One account, all four tools

Registration and sign-in run through the GDC Tools Manager. It holds your account, your household and which tools you may open.

  1. 01 One account for every GDC tool Register once. Access to a new tool is added to the account you already have.
  2. 02 An administrator approves each registration New sign-ups sit in review until they are approved. Nothing is opened automatically.
  3. 03 Households share one workspace Cats, recipes and trips belong to the household, not to a single person. Everyone in it sees the same data.
